Main duties:
To contribute to the creative vision of the brand through research and development in line with the collection plan as set by the Head of Design.
The Role:
-To develop seasonal collections and to design product construction including handbags, small leather goods, wallet, technical cases, belts, leather gloves, bijoux, and metals accessories;
-To work under direction of Head of Design and to assist Senior Designers within the team to continually deliver a fresh, creative and brand appropriate product range;
-To research based on Head of Design brief for the season: materials, trends, colors, arts;
-To build sophisticated shapes and patterns, doing experiments on material, brass accessories, embroideries..etc;
-To create sketches, renderings & technical drawings both by hand and with Illustrator as well as Photoshop;
-To define colours; leather choices; textiles and metal hardware;
-To follow up with prototype development and coordination with the leather goods workshop;
-To produce accurate patterns and technical specifications for product development;
-To support design team by preparing necessary visual tools (i.e. sketches, doll boards, presentation boards, fabric samples & swatches, color standards, etc);
-To undertake design research, inspirational and competitors as well as Patrizia Pepe store visits to build a greater understanding of the Brand;
-To adhere to the design calendar and ensure all deadlines are met;
Profilo
-Fluent in Italian (written & spoken) is essential;
-Fluent in English (written & spoken) is preferred;
-Previous experience within the accessories industry undertaking a similar role as a Product Designer
-Professional experience using Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design programs as well as hand sketches;
-Knowledge of Modelform & Tornado would be a plus;
-Strong product knowlede and technical background of high quality leather handbag & accessories;
-Great fashion sense & understanding of latest market trend with experience working for Italians or international Brands;
-Ability to handle multiple priorities (quickly and efficiently) with tight deadlines;
-Positive “can-do” attitude;
