Role Mission
The Legal Counsel – Business Functions, under the coordination and supervision of the Business Functions Senior Legal Counsel, will draft contracts and provide on-going legal counselling to his/her business partners (corporate clients) relating to Merchandising (including Licensing), Marketing and Communications, Design and Store Planning areas and particularly in copyright and image/publicity rights related matters, both at corporate and regional levels, as well as with external legal counsels.
Key Accountabilities
Drafting (from scratch or on the basis of existing templates and standards), reviewing and analyzing a broad range of contracts and deeds, such as services and consultancy agreements, content licensing, sponsorship and testimonial agreements, audio-visual content production agreements, Non Disclosure Agreements, releases, and Intellectual Property-related agreements at large;
Carrying out searches of both case law and scholars opinions using on line and off line tools;
Reviewing documentation and prepare critical summaries;
Managing relationships with corporate clients;
Preparing legal opinions for the corporate clients;
Attending meetings with corporate clients and preparing minutes.
Key Requirements
Juris Doctor required, with strong academic credentials;
Italian and/or foreign bar admission a plus;
Fluent Italian and English communication skills are mandatory, both verbal and written;
Minimum 4+ years of relevant law practice experience either in law firms or in-house environment;
In-depth knowledge of copyright and other IPR issues;
Strong customer/client service skills a must;
Ability to work under time constraints;
Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities;
Highly motivated and accurate;
Flexibility and willingness to meet all of the legal department’s needs (both large and small);
Computer skills, MS Office literate.
